Ukraine Admits It Can’t Fight On Without U.S. – Accepts 30-Day Ceasefire

After years of bloodshed, Ukraine has finally agreed to a 30-day ceasefire proposal brokered by President Trump’s administration – and in effect, admitted that they can’t keep fighting like this. The breakthrough comes as America prepares to lift military aid restrictions while pushing for a diplomatic solution to the brutal conflict.

At a glance:

• Ukraine has accepted a US-proposed 30-day complete ceasefire with Russia

• President Trump’s administration has agreed to lift restrictions on military aid to Ukraine

• Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will present the ceasefire proposal to Putin in Moscow

• The agreement followed high-stakes talks between US and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia

• This would be the first ceasefire since Russia’s full-scale invasion began in 2022

Trump Brokers Historic Peace Opportunity

President Donald Trump has achieved what many thought impossible by securing Ukraine’s agreement to a complete 30-day ceasefire with Russia. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the breakthrough following high-level talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – but now it’s up to Russia to make the decision.

The ceasefire would mark the first pause in hostilities since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022, proving that Trump’s unconventional negotiating style really does work. Trump’s diplomatic victory comes after his administration promised to lift restrictions on military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine, demonstrating his strategy of peace through strength. It also comes after the famous Oval Office bust-up that saw Zelenskyy kicked out of the White House.

“That’s a total ceasefire, Ukraine has agreed to it. And hopefully Russia will agree to it,” said President Donald Trump about the historic proposal. Trump added, “We’re going to meet with them [the Russians] later on today and tomorrow and hopefully we’ll be able to [work] out a deal.”

National Security Advisor Mike Waltz has indicated that upcoming discussions with Russia will focus directly on how the war would end. The administration’s rapid progress on peace negotiations stands in stark contrast to the Biden-Harris method that prolonged the conflict without a viable exit strategy.

Russia Faces Important Decision

Trump’s Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff, is expected to personally deliver the ceasefire proposal to Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. And you know the Democrats will lose it when he steps foot on Russian soil.

The high-stakes diplomatic mission comes after Ukraine demonstrated its military capabilities with what was described as the “largest drone attack in history” on Moscow.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov has cautiously stated there are no peace negotiations yet and declined to comment on Russia’s stance regarding the ceasefire. The Russian military has recently launched an offensive in the Kursk region, reportedly regaining territory from Ukrainian forces while facing pressure to consider the diplomatic option.

Secretary Rubio made it clear that Ukraine’s proposal for a partial ceasefire could be the necessary concession to end the devastating conflict. This marks a significant shift from previous failed diplomatic efforts and highlights Trump’s effectiveness at bringing opposing sides to the negotiating table.

The Trump administration has also strategically revived a controversial minerals deal between the US and Ukraine, linking economic interests with security guarantees.

Might we finally see an end to this brutal war?
