Star Jenna Dewan Hints at Divorce in Latest Social Media Post

Jenna Dewan has seemingly made a playful nod to her divorce from Channing Tatum, six years after she first filed to end their marriage. On Thursday, Sept. 26, Dewan shared a well-known meme of actress Nicole Kidman on her Instagram Stories. The image, taken shortly after Kidman finalized her divorce from Tom Cruise, shows Kidman with her arms raised in apparent relief, which fans and media alike have often interpreted as a symbol of freedom and joy post-divorce.

The cheeky post came just one day after Dewan and Tatum officially finalized their divorce on Sept. 25. On the same day, Dewan also shared a carousel of family photos on Instagram, captioning them with a simple “Thank you universe,” possibly alluding to her feelings of closure.

Dewan and Tatum, who met on the set of the 2006 film Step Up, married in 2008 and announced their separation in 2018 after a decade together. They share a daughter, Everly, who is now 11. The couple has been co-parenting Everly since their split, with Dewan describing the process as a continuous journey. “Evie will always be my top priority,” she told Romper earlier this year.

Tatum, for his part, admitted in a 2023 interview with Vanity Fair that their separation was a difficult and scary time, describing how life shifted dramatically after their decision to part ways.

Since their split, both Dewan and Tatum have moved on to new relationships. Dewan is engaged to actor Steve Kazee, with whom she shares two children, Callum, 4, and Rhiannon, born in June 2024. Tatum is engaged to actress and director Zoë Kravitz, whom he met during the casting process for her film Blink Twice. The couple announced their engagement in October 2023.

Dewan’s Kidman meme reflects not only her sense of humor but perhaps also a feeling of closure after a lengthy and complicated divorce process that involved financial disputes, including disagreements over the profits from Tatum’s Magic Mike franchise. Now, as both stars embark on new chapters of their lives, Dewan’s post hints that she’s ready to move forward with gratitude.
