After the death of his friend and co-star, Matt LeBlanc has finally spoken out.
Last month, the body of the Friends star was found in his hot tub.
Matt, age 56, broke his silence on Instagram after many weeks with an emotional post.
It was with a sad heart he penned his farewell.
He said the days they spent together would always have a special place in his heart, and to have him as a friend and co-performer was a privilege.
LeBlanc said Perry positively impacted his life, which he will never forget. Never.
He said, “Brother, you can now spread your wings and fly. Warm regards.”
He ended with a quip that summed up their sense of humor and camaraderie – “And I take it you’re not giving me back the twenty dollars you owe me.”
Matthew’s family and Friends castmates said their goodbyes to him earlier this month in Los Angeles.
His burial was at Forest Lawn Church of the Hills, near the filming location of the renowned TV program Friends, where the actor and his castmates worked for a decade.
Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, and Courteney Cox, all of whom costarred with Matthew, showed up to the church dressed in black.
Matthew’s father, John Bennett Perry, and stepfather, Keith Morrison, both attended the two-hour funeral.
Although the official cause of Matthew’s death has not been confirmed, his friends believe he was clean and sober in his last years and was always busy in his Pacific Palisades home.
Pierre Johnson Jr., the star’s longtime barber, said Matthew had made an effort to reduce his smoking.
He’d gotten back into pickleball and was getting back in shape. You didn’t have to be a fitness fanatic to enjoy it. It also serves as cardiovascular exercise.
He went on to explain that his smoking had turned his fingertips brown. He went to see a hypnotist to kick the habit. One common way people cope with pressure is by lighting up. He spent his last day playing pickleball.
Pierre added that Matthew never consumed any alcoholic drinks, and he believed that Matthew stayed clean and sober throughout his last years after discussing his problems in his biography.
Pierre indicated that Matthew wanted a companion but was having trouble finding a lady he could trust.
The actor had also spoken publicly about a wish to return to television.
