Vice President Kamala Harris has seemingly given up on pretending that she’s a moderate, telling a podcaster this week that she’s open to handing out reparations for black Americans using taxpayer money.
Just…wow.
At a glance:
- Vice President Kamala Harris expressed openness to studying reparations for Black Americans during a recent interview with Charlamagne tha God.
- Harris reiterated that reparations should be examined and that her economic agenda aims to address disparities in Black communities.
- Former President Donald Trump’s campaign criticized Harris’s stance, calling her a “radical liberal.”
During a recent interview with Charlamagne tha God, Vice President Kamala Harris expressed her willingness to consider reparations for Black Americans, stating, “It has to be studied, there’s no question about that.” Harris made this statement as part of her ongoing efforts to court Black voters, particularly Black men, during the 2024 presidential campaign.

Harris’s remarks are consistent with her previous positions, including her 2020 presidential campaign when she pledged to sign a reparations bill if it reached her desk. The conversation shifted to other topics, such as her economic plan aimed at helping Black entrepreneurs and promoting homeownership, which she emphasized as part of building generational wealth in Black communities.
The issue of reparations has long been a contentious political topic. A Pew Research poll in 2022 revealed that 68% of Americans oppose reparations. Harris’s campaign, however, continues to advocate for policies that aim to address perceived systemic inequalities, including providing forgivable loans to Black entrepreneurs and expanding access to community banks.
Forgivable loans are called grants, by the way. They’re a gift. Free money.
Former President Donald Trump’s campaign quickly responded to Harris’s comments, criticizing her stance as evidence of a “radical liberal” agenda. \
Kamala really is as extreme as everyone says she is. Just look at her record.
