Homecoming Tragedy: Incident at Lincoln University

On Saturday evening, October 25, 2025, an incident occurred during Lincoln University’s homecoming tailgate in the International Cultural Center parking lot. Jujuan Jeffers, 25, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away, and six other individuals, aged 20-25, sustained injuries. The incident took place between 9:00 and 9:30 p.m. as students, alumni, and community members were celebrating after the football game.

Chester County District Attorney Chris de Barrena-Sarobe stated that investigators believe multiple shooters were involved. Zecqueous Morgan-Thompson, 21, has been arrested on charges of carrying a firearm without a license. The FBI, Pennsylvania State Police, and local detectives are reviewing ballistics and video evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.

Lincoln University officials canceled classes for “a day of healing” and offered counseling services following the incident. President and campus police chief Marc Partee expressed “devastation” regarding the incident.

The event, a large public gathering, attracted both university community members and individuals from outside the university. Lincoln University is located in rural Chester County, approximately 50 miles from Philadelphia. Governor Josh Shapiro has pledged state support for the ongoing investigation.
