Last week, The Epoch Times reported that it was prevented from entering an event hosted by the Center for Election Integrity and Research (CEIR), the election group that received millions of dollars in 2020 from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and groups funded by billionaire George Soros.
CEIR hosted an invite-only “Summit on American Democracy” in Washington last week that was closed to the public and only permitted selected, preapproved press outlets to attend in person. However, the event was streamed live on C-SPAN.
According to the Epoch Times, the summit was attended by high-ranking officials including Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-MD), and Maricopa County supervisor, Republican Bill Gates.
While the Epoch Times was unable to attend the event in person, it was able to watch the summit via a live-stream broadcast.
According to the Epoch Times, CEIR founder David Becker opened the summit by declaring the 2020 election “the most secure, transparent, and verifiable election” in history.
Pro-Trump activist Laura Loomer claimed that she was removed from the summit after attempting to harass officials from Georgia and Arizona.
Loomer claimed that the purpose of the summit was to plot how to prevent Donald Trump from winning the presidency in 2024.
During the 2020 election, the Center for Election Integrity and Research received $69.5 million from Mark Zuckerberg to provide more ballot drop boxes in swing states.
In his opening remarks last week, Becker credited the philanthropy of Zuckerberg and others for CEIR’s successful efforts during the 2020 presidential election.
Some of that philanthropy came from far-left billionaire George Soros. During the 2020 election, Soros donated $9 million to the Democrat Party and tens of millions to Democrat-aligned “voting rights” and election groups like the Center for Election Integrity through his Open Society Foundation.
