Biden’s Commerce Secy Mocked for Being Unaware of New Jobs Report

United States Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo received intense backlash for her unawareness about the latest jobs report from the Labor Department that revealed that the Biden administration falsely inflated job numbers in its previous reports.

Instead of admitting the government’s failure, Raimondo accused Donald Trump of not being “truthful” even though the report was issued by the Bureau of Labor and had nothing to do with the former president.

Raimondo was giving an interview during the recently concluded Democratic National Convention when a journalist asked her thoughts about a recent report showing that the government added almost 818,000 fewer jobs than previously estimated from March 2023 to March 2024.

In response to these questions, Raimondo said that the country is currently in the “best of hands” and that she does not believe Trump’s lies. The reporter informed her that this data is from the Department of Labor, to which Raimondo said she was not aware.

Raimondo then started praising the “pro-business” economic policies of Kamala Harris and how she thinks Harris would be the best thing for the American economy.

This response landed her in trouble as lawmakers, journalists and citizens slammed her for these remarks.

According to GOP Congressman Bill Huizenga, it is “simply incredible” that Raimondo is not aware of the latest job data and that she still expects others to see her as a credible source.

Political commentator Katie Pevlich said that Democrats can hide only a limited number of things before seeing all of them getting exposed in front of people. Pevlich said that Democrats redefined recession, concealed Biden’s mental abilities, and changed the economic data in their effort to hide the truth from Americans.

Many X users also made fun of Raimondo’s remarks, and some slammed her for remaining unaware of the reality of the job market.

The Biden administration recently attracted criticism after the revised Bureau of Labor report, which showed that the US had 2.1 million new jobs, excluding farm jobs, compared to previously reported 2.9 million between March 2023 and March 2024.

After this report, Donald Trump also took a dig at the Biden administration and claimed that the real job numbers are even worse than that. Trump also said that Kamala Harris’ victory in the 2024 presidential elections will “VANISH” more jobs in the upcoming times, and the country will face unprecedented inflation.
