Additional Arrests Made in Search for Missing Kentucky Baby

The Kentucky State Police reports that cadaver dogs had been utilized in the pursuit of finding 8-month-old infant Miya Rudd.

Last week, during a welfare check with Miya’s parents, officials were unable to find her, so they began an ongoing investigation that included the use of dogs, which are trained to identify human remains.

Billie J. (Rudd) Smith, 49, Miya’s grandmother, was among those arrested over the weekend by troopers in connection with the search. Smith is wanted on assault and domestic abuse charges linked to occurrences that occurred in October 2023.

According to an official update, 37-year-old Timothy L. Roach was also detained and faces charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Prescription Controlled Substance Not in a Proper Container. His relationship with Miya Rudd and her family is still unknown.

On Thursday, Miya’s parents were taken into custody in Ohio County, Kentucky, and her grandmother was remanded to the Ohio Country Detention Center on a $25,000 bail.

The mother of Miya, Tesla Tucker, 29, was taken into custody and faces charges of engaging in organized crime, abandoning a kid, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and more.

Cage Rudd, Miya’s father, was also arrested on the same allegations. He is thirty years old.

Ricky Smith, 56, a third family member, was also taken into custody on allegations of child abuse, drug use, and weapons possession.

Miya’s parents have since been subject to further accusations.

A number of charges, including first-degree child abuse and narcotics trafficking (marijuana and methamphetamine), were brought against Tesla Tucker.

The charges against Cage, who is Miya’s father, include child abuse and trafficking in controlled substances.

The grandpa of Miya, Ricky Smith, was indicted on several counts, including narcotics trafficking, child abuse, abandonment of a minor, involvement in organized crime, and felon in possession of a firearm.
